No account, and no data collected
IntentLock is a screen-time app that runs entirely on your iPhone. It has no account, no server, and no analytics. Nothing about you is sent anywhere.
This policy is short because there is very little to say. That is the point of the app.
IntentLock does not collect personal data. There is nothing to sign up for, no profile, no email address, and no identifier of any kind that reaches us. We never see your data, because it never leaves your phone.
What stays on your device
The app stores the following on your iPhone, and only on your iPhone:
- The apps you chose to limit. iOS gives IntentLock opaque tokens for these, not names. The app cannot read which apps you picked as text — it can only ask iOS to display them.
- Your daily budgets and settings — the limits you set, the extension durations you enabled, and your weekly card schedule.
- A record of your own activity in the app: when a budget ran out, when you took extra time, and when you closed the lock screen and walked away. Every number the app shows is worked out from this record.
All of it lives in a private container on your device, shared only between IntentLock and its own extensions. No copy is made anywhere else. It is not backed up to iCloud.
What Screen Time access is used for
IntentLock asks for Screen Time access so iOS can tell it when one of the apps you chose has been open for as long as you allowed, and so it can put the lock screen up when that happens.
It sees which of your chosen apps you open and for how long. It does not see anything inside them — no messages, no browsing, no content of any kind — and it sees nothing about apps you did not choose.
Notifications
IntentLock sends two notifications, both scheduled on your device: a heads-up when a daily budget runs out, and the weekly card, if you turn it on. These are local notifications. There is no push server, and no notification token exists or is shared.
Purchases
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. Payment details go to Apple and never to us — IntentLock never sees a card number, a name, or an address.
The app asks Apple's StoreKit whether a purchase is active, and stores only the answer ("free", "monthly" or "lifetime") on your device. There is no third-party subscription or analytics service involved.
Sharing
Nothing is shared, because nothing is collected. IntentLock has no advertising, no trackers, no third-party SDKs, and no network requests of its own. Your data is never sold, and never used to build a profile.
The one thing the app can send anywhere is a share card, and only when you choose to share it. That image is created on your device, shows no app names or icons, and goes wherever you send it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export or delete personal data held about you. In IntentLock's case there is none held by us to act on — your data is on your device, under your control.
Deleting the app deletes every record. There is no copy anywhere else and nothing to request from us.
App Store privacy label
IntentLock's App Store listing declares Data Not Collected, which is an accurate description of the app's behaviour.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
